Montana Clay Tour
Who We Are
The Montana Clay Tour is comprised of a group of professional ceramic artists who are dedicated to showing and selling high quality work to the public. We care deeply about beauty, craftsmanship, and the communities we live in. We are not affiliated with any group, but many of the artists that show on the tour are members of the group called Montana Clay. We stand behind the work that we make, and hope that you will enjoy what you see.
The Archie Bray Foundation has had a significant impact on the Helena Valley, as well as on all of Montana. Ceramicists from all over the world who make it through a rigorous selection process find themselves at "the Bray" working as Resident Artists. Some stay for a month or a summer, and some stay for two years. Many realize how special Montana is and decide to put down roots. Consequently, this state has a thriving arts community, despite its lack of urban population centers. As Montana artists, we are all proud of the work we make and are thrilled to be able to call such a beautiful place our home. We are grateful for the support of our communities, and we hope you will feel welcome in our homes and studios.
The Montana Clay Tour is a collective of Montana based ceramic artists committed to cultivating the appreciation of contemporary ceramics through an annual open studio tour. The tour’s objective is to showcase the talent and diversity of Montana’s ceramics community by inviting the public to engage with the artist’s intimate studio setting, thereby creating meaningful connections and enriching our communities.
